What does perfection look like to you?

Perfection is different for each person. Each of us handles it differently.  What is perfect to one person isn’t to another.  There are so many different stories about perfection and how we deal with it. I wanted to share some of them with you. Below are a few stories from moms who have dealt with perfection and know what it feels like to have that doubt and fear of failure creep in. These stories are suppose to let you know that you are not alone. We all have struggles and there really is no such thing as the perfect mom.

Opening my eyes

I have struggled with perfectionism for as long as I can remember. It got worse after I had my kids. When my daughter was born I had to have her always dressed nice and looking perfect. I always smiled because I wanted everyone to think I had this whole mothering thing down.

Realizing you need help

Asking for help can be hard but realizing that you actually need help is harder.  Nobody wants to admit that they actually need help. We view help as a sign of weakness or failure. As moms and women, we think we should be able to do everything and do it well. We are not suppose to need help.

Time Management to overcome Perfection

Using time management to overcome perfection

Another area in your life that can help with the need for perfection is time management. I know I always feel less than perfect when I forget an event or I’m running late to something. Well time management will not make you perfect it will make you feel like you have your life together. It can help when you are planning events to make sure that you get everything done that you want to and can help eliminate the mom guilt about forgetting something.
